<description><![CDATA[ Aug. 26, 2008 (China Knowledge) - Shanghai Hitachi Household Appliances Co. Ltd, a well-known air-condition compressor manufacturer in China, launched its office in New Delhi, capital city of India, a significant approach to the company's business expansion in the emerging market of India.
Shanghai Hitachi, a joint venture (JV) between Shanghai-listed Shanghai Highly (Group) Co. Ltd and Japan's Hitachi Appliances, Inc, held an opening ceremony for the new office, which will provide technological services for its customers in that region.
Shanghai Hitachi is now the largest air condition compressor provider in China and also the world's third biggest one after development for more than ten years since it was founded in 1993.
The office will strongly enhance Shanghai Hitachi's brand awareness in India, which is considered as the most important market for the JV's overseas business strategy, said sources.
Shanghai Hitachi's sales in India amounted to 400,000 units last year, representing a sharp increase since it stepped into Indian market.
